Heather hits century in big win at North Maidenhead

By Dave Wright

England skipper in top form

Heather Knight produced a magnificent innings as she led Berkshire to victory in a one-sided ECB Women's County Championship Division 2 game against Worcestershire at North Maidenhead on Bank Holiday Monday.
The England skipper smashed 131 off 121 balls, including a six and 18 fours, and that was 54 more than the whole Worcs team managed between them.
Berks posted a formidable total of 296-4 from their 50 overs.
Team captain Lissy Macloud fell just five runs short of also reaching a century, her 95 coming off 116 balls. She and Knight put on 229 for the third wicket.
Anya Shrubsole smashed 20 off just sevens balls before taking 3-8 in seven overs to send Worcs tumbling to a heavy defeat. Phoebe Graham claimed 3-14, Lauren Bell 2-15, Ashleigh Muttitt 1-15 and Knight 1-18 as the visitors crashed to 77 all out in 28.4 overs.
Only two visiting batters - and that was two more than Essex on Sunday - managed to reach double figures, Chloe Hill (28) and Clare Boycott (11) while there were 21 extras.
Berkshire will be looking to make it three home wins out of three when they take on Somerset at North Maidenhead on Sunday, May 12 at 11am.
