Berkshire 1sts and Middlesex 2nds squad members Jack Davies and Etham Bamber have been named in the 14-man England Under-19 squad to play South Africa Under-19. Following a warm-up game against the Unicorns at Loughborough on July 3-4, the first 'Test' is at Scarborough on July 8-11 and then at the Emirates Riverside in Durham on July 16-19.
Davies and Bamber, along with another Berkshire player Archie Carter, were all in the Middlesex 2nds side when they played Hampshire 2nds at Radlett CC.
Henley wicketkeeper Davies had scores of 0 and 21 and Bamber 0 not out and 40 (off 48 balls), while Carter did particularly well with 35 and 48 in his first appearance for the county.
For Hampshire, Euan Woods made 81 off 139 balls batting at No 8 and took 4-64 from 26 overs in Middlesex's second innings.
Hampshire's side also included another Berkshire youngster, Tom Scriven, and he made scores of 35 and 20 not out in his side's 9-wicket victory.
In the first innings, Scriven was caught Davies off the bowling of Martin Andersson, who has played for Berkshire in the past.
